It’s probably pretty obvious from watching this, but we’re both really sick. The next Brief should drop on Friday.

Here in Belgium we have quite a elaborate copyright law. Everything written (yes even your little PHP based website, or family picture) is protected by our copyright laws.

To enforce these laws you have to do absolutely nothing, absolutely nothing… not even place a robot.txt file. And that’s where it went wrong.

Google has to ask explicitly to use once copyrighted material, even a small excerpt (unless it’s for science or school), and one shouldn’t provide an indication that it might or may not be used.

So there you go… Google did brake Belgian law… and the Belgian papers who sued Google violated common internet sense :p

trivia: MSN voluntarily removed content from those papers a few days later, aperantly MSN wasn’t big enough to sue :D

Sounds like your voice needs a bit of fresh tea :-) Get well soon!
… Nice quality, but flipping between the bits and the DVD burner … hmmmm, no that did not really work.. sorry :-p
    cheers, keep trying.

Lightscribe is cool… but media is a bit pricey comparitively. And design software for it is limited (or, from what I read back when it first got on the market). I want to see uber reliable burners and media. Particularlly media.. scratches way too easily.

A note on the sponsored ad… the little breaks to the dvd writer seemed to detach the video cast today too much IMO. Since it was an HP product and all. Anyone else feel that way?

And hope you all get better, everyone seems to be coming down with something these days… blast winter.

    Incoming……Incoming…..Incoming….Executive Order Alert!

All members of GIA to self vaccinate to restore voice comms. Recipe as follows:

    Take 1 glass tumbler
Pour 1 inch of Brandy or Cognac into it
Add one desert spoon of Honey
Top up with boiling water and stir for 30 seconds.
Consume the drink at the hotest temperature you can stand.

Retire to sleeping quarters for 12 hours and wake up free from symptoms and refreshed to continue future missions.

    That is all.

    GIA-UK Out.

I love the rant, but ouch, get some chicken soup and get better soon.

“So there you go… Google did brake Belgian law… and the Belgian papers who sued Google violated common internet sense :p”

Sounds like it was pretty well broken before they got there

    Just watching the show.

You sound like you sound like you should be presenting the show wrapped in a blankie with a mug of something hot and lemony.

I have lightscribe DVD writer. Cool, image burning time can exceed CD / DVD burning time. Take a look at http://www.lightscribe.com/ for explanation and graphic templates.

For those of you in the UK, I saw that Top Gear presenter and personal hero Jeremy Clarkson has one of these B&O phones. Used it to text Kristen Scott-Thomas!

    Might influence you either way!!!

You guys really do a great job. Glad that the sponsorships are working out for you. Thought the breaks were fine.

And you still look great Cali, if when your sick. Hope you get to feeling better.

My husband and I were just at the PhotoPlus Expo in NYC. We stopped by the HP booth and got to see samples of what the LightScribe labeling can do. It looks amazing. We told the guy that we just heard about it on GeekBrief…but he didn’t know what we were talking about LOL.
