FYI - Large Format and Windows Format both have a bad link.

I know - you’re too quick! I accidentally hit “publish” before the Large and WMV have even finished uploading. They’ll be set to go in a few minutes. Sorry! :)

Wow! Great show! A few thoughts on this one.

Smart Phone - As a Sidekick User, I wrote an article on my Sidekick2 a little while back: http://www.dkworldwide.com/techlife/archives/2006/05/01/all-good-superheroes%e2%80%a6/

And here’s a little trick a friend of mine told me about, apparently you can buy an unlocked Treo on Ebay, and if you just wanted a single device but were not a huge wireless email/web/chat user you could stick in your sim card and have a phone/PDA sans the wireless and sans the Data fees. I thought that was a great trick.

My First Robot - As a fan of iRobot’s products I wrote about my Scooba, a floor washing robot too. As for cleaning them after each use, I don’t think it is a pain at all. http://www.dkworldwide.com/techlife/archives/2006/03/01/scooba-dooba-do/

Anyone else having the iTunes issue? All my computers are getting it fine in iTunes, so I’m not sure what the problem might be.

Micah - Windows or Mac? Version of iTunes?

  8. Comment by David on November 7, 2006 1:44 pm

I’m also having trouble with the iTunes feed, it doesn’t update after episode 88. I’m using a Mac with iTunes 7.0.2.

  9. Comment by Micah P on November 7, 2006 1:55 pm

Heya, don’t know if you want to handle this in email or not, but I checked on both platforms (mac and pc), running the latest version of iTunes 7 (7.0.2), and I’m not getting anything after #88.

Hit me up on email if you want me to try anything else! :)

Hey I’m using this feed: http://geekbrief.podshow.com/?feed=rss2
in TVTonic. I’ve looked at the feed itself and there are no episodes past episode 88 even on the feed.

  12. Comment by Cali on November 7, 2006 3:43 pm

Thanks, Chris! I think that might be the issue, then. That changed a while back to http://www.podshow.com/feeds/geekbrieftv.xml. We had a redirect on the feed so nobody would experience any problems. So I’m looking into it to see if something has broken with the redirect.

Keep them coming, though, every bit of information helps. Thank you!

I’m waiting for Podshow+ to come back online to check the iTunes feeds but in the meantime,
Any thought on what you want to name your Roomba?

  14. Comment by Cali on November 7, 2006 4:57 pm

Well, we thought about Alice, but I think we’ve decided it’s a boy. So…we haven’t said this is the one, but we’re thinking Mr. Belvedere.

    Whadya think?

Good show today, like the new hair. I guess you guys are still working out the filming format for the show with the new equipment.

The flat panel T.V on your left is a little confusing. It works well for the new set, but it seems a waste if all it’s going to be used for is to display the Geekbrief logo. I was thinking it would be showing info on the gadgets you talk about. On the other hand, the current style lets us see them much larger as they fly across the screen.

Also, in the segments where you were not showcasing new equipment, the shots had you filling up most of the frame without the laptop and the geekbar. If you’re looking for comments on the new formats you are testing, that looks better, IMHO.

Keep up the good work btw, the show keeps getting better.

Hey Cali, the feeds are up in iTunes again. I’m getting #89 and #90 now. I’m excited to see what you have to say, but the internet is soooo slow in Iraq! (Well at least it’s too slow to get me my fix of GeekBrief on demand).

    Hey great show!

What hapened to the iPod giveaways. Also… I would like to see a story to see if anyone has hacked the iPod video to work with Nike+

That’s genius! Maybe you can draw a little moustache on it too.
It sure beats calling it “The Nanny” or “Fran Drescher”

::“Well, we thought about Alice, but I think we’ve decided it’s a boy. So…we haven’t said this is the one, but we’re thinking Mr. Belvedere.::

How about “Alfred”? “Jeeves”? “Mr. French”? “Summerset” - though I guess you have to be an Eve Dallas fan to get that one? :)

Roomba! I had a couple of these and they were great. But, the dog hair would get wrapped around the brush and wheels and eventually cause problems. As soon as the dog is gone (she is 12 years old…) we will get a new Roomba.
