I get email all the time asking for recommendations on this or that. One of the most common questions I get is which GPS navigation system I recommend. I’ve tried Garmin a couple times, and the navigation functionality was fine, but the navigator’s voice drove me crazy. So during the holidays, we took a road trip. We had TomTom send us one of their units, we rented a car with some cargo room for equipment, and we hit the road. The plan was to do shows on the road, but it rained, and it rained, and it rained, so we didn’t get footage that was interesting enough to use. Long story short, this is my review of the TomTom 910, with data services provided by TeleAtlas.

I wrote LEO…he is a softy…he wrote me back! SUCKA (kidding) I love you all. HAPPY NEW YEAR. Andy
Wow, Cali! You must have overdosed on caffeine with the Splenda Flavor Blends! I think you set a new record for speed-talking in this episode. Then, upon watching the outtakes at the end of the show, I am wondering if you were hurrying through the content so you could finish before the TomTom fell over? :-) Happy New Year!
Good to have you back. Hope you had a great holiday break.
Cali;
No new tag line! You are our fearless leader!
Dale
Speedtalkingmakesmewanttotypethissentencewithoutspaces. Ok…..my analogy of your speed is…you are to mouths what ze frank is to eyes.
As for a new tagline….Dale said it best.
I see it as…
You lead, we listen.
You are fearless from drill bits to dancing. Happy New Year and Anniversary.
Pish Posh! Let Cali change her tagline, it’s time for a change :-). And guys, she was just excited to be back on GB and probably exhausted from the holidays, I’m sure you’d be wired by now too. I thought it was a great GB :-)
Stick with “your Fearless Leader” It’s catchy, cute and fun.
I think mhanley said it best in one word. Wow! I think I got dizzy after the first minute. Yes, it’s been mentioned twice already, but I gotta say, it felt like you loaded up on caffeine and just let it rip.
That being said, welcome back. And a new tag line would be cool. I still like the old one, but the show is growing and moving forward,a new one is not a bad idea.
I curious as to how life was for a couple of techno/neophiles who had to endure a couple of days without the internet.
lol! Neal didn’t miss it a bit. But I was constantly on my Dash trying to reply to email from it. But when you’re getting slammed with a million spam comments, it’s not so easy. :)
RE: off route - recalculating. The garmin lady can be put to rest in the garmin setup options. If you turn voice nav off, the gps will constantly adjust without nagging. and yes it will allow you to ’stop’ navigation, and then ‘resume’.
Love the podcast!

Happy New Year, welcome back, and Happy Anniversary - and stuff.
Oooh! New Tagline Contest! More iPod giveaways! ;)
Truthfully, I like “Your Fearless Leader,” not because of the words themselves, but because of the delivery. If I were to say that, I would come across as rude and condescending. You’re able to pull it off, though.
Welcome back Cali!
I hope your time with the family was great and it was enjoyable. I did like how you said they did not have Internet connection and had to go to the attic……was there next door neighbor wireless access point open..? :)
I do not think you should change your tagline, maybe add to it. I like it just the way it is.
Have a great New Year!
When it comes to me attempting directions, I do better with the Magic 8Ball. And all of these units are still way out of my price range. Oh well!
Cali,
The tomtom is the BEST! I’ve been through several GPS devices/brands and overall the tomtom delivers all the goods better than any other one I’ve seen. It is so good, in fact, that some creep smashed in the window to my Scion several weeks back up in the peaceful, fairy-tail land of Plano and ONLY TOOK THE TOM TOM. I put that in all caps because there *was* a few thousand dollars of other electronics in the car as well. I don’t keep my gadgets in the car anymore. :-)
Anyhoo… As for the tagline, I think you’re stuck (in a good way).
Seriously, what else are you gonna come up with?
“I like fried chicken”,
“Trains go wheeeeee”,
“My foot has a bunion”,
“Adam wears a wig” or maybe
“Brittany really isn’t that innocent.”
Nope, as you can see, there’s no other good taglines out there. ’nuff said sister. Go make a podcast.
