Portland, Oregon Meetup
We’re planning a meetup in Portland for this Wednesday the 15th in the evening, or sometime next week during the day (while our nephew is in school). Here’s the question. What are your schedules like - is evening or afternoon best? I’m thinking we choose a coffee shop to make it simple.
UPDATE: We’ve decided on a place and time for the Portland Meetup. Details are here: GBTV Talk: Portland Meetup, and here’s a summary:

Make sure you let us know if you’ll be there by posting on the forum so I can let the manager at Mio know what to expect.

Great idea! Evening might be best - most of the techies around here still have to work for a living :-)
Lots of interesting places; think about Via Delizia in the Pearl District (good gelato).
Of course, the microbreweries are also worth considering, and they stay open later.
Wednesday evening works for me. If you want to hang with the geek you might want to do it out by Intel in Hillsboro (there are only about 15K technical people working there) one of the popular after work hang outs is McMenamins - Cornelius Pass Roadhouse.

I live on the east side so I’d be up for down town, microbrew or one of the hipster hangouts.
another suggestion would be Beaverton in The Round…either a sushi place (www.miosushi.com), an italian place (www.mingowest.com) or a coffeehouse (www.urbanrhythms.com). Beaverton Round is noteworthy because it is the Linux mecca…Linus Torvalds office is in the building.
That sounds awesome! We have to do it in Beaverton Round just because of that. Here are the details:
