[...] Colligan Am I the only one that finds it ironic that I’d find out this information from an audio-only version of Geekbrief? Get better Cali, and thanks for not bringing rubella to [...]

    Hi,
Wikipedia did not make a misstake about the end of Rubella. The last sentence says “This may not be so, as there are cases still being diagnosed.” I wonder who they may be talking about? I hope to SEE you again soon.

First of all hope you will get well soon, Cali.

Hm… the squircle or however they pronounce exists already… it’s called “sqound”. At least that’s what BenQ Mobile used for rounded rectangles.

Personally I think BOSE is overpriced for what they offer, which is halfway ok sound for the price you get a really, really decent system.
Anyway, I find the suspension very cool, but what has BOSE actually improved? The video is quite old already, seen it a while ago on YouTube. About the jump… I think it has been programmed into the system or so, because the car is lowered way ahead of the jump… even if its sensors reach that far, how can they look what is behind the obstacle?
This system is obviously intended for luxury cars at first, where I don’t see $10000 as a big price increase for that sort of comfort. They do have this system worked out? Is it reliable, so in case some manufacturer says… “yeah, we take it”, they can do it right away?

I just checked and GeekBrief isn’t on our TiVoCast list yet :(

Cali, this is very odd that you caught this. Obviously, this happened somewhere on your recent vacation. I am curious if you had the standard childhood rubella vaccinations. I know that in the past 20 years, they have done fewer of the standard vaccinations they used to do because this stuff was getting pretty wiped out in the US. With the enormous amount of immigration we’ve had lately, a lot of these diseases are making a comeback, and young adults no longer have the defenses they need against them.

Related - a woman at work caught TB after visiting relatives in Mexico. She was quarantined, and We all had to be tested for it by the county health department. Luckily, no one else caught it.

    Cali> How was rubella confirmed?

Went to Crucial, but alas, must have been a day late….

Get well soon, hope to see your smiling face back on the Big Screen.

    Hope you’re healing quickly Cali.

The Bose suspension system is old news…Popular Science did an article on it in 2004 and YouTube has videos dating back a year. You make your show sound irrelevant by featuring “news” like this.

Cali, please check with your doctor about being out in the public in a restaurant. As I wrote you yesterday, when I had German measles about 40 years ago, it was dangerous for pregnant women to be around me.

Wow! I hope you’re getting better.

I missed the news of your Rubella due to being out of town (and touch) last week and I’m only starting to catch up on the podcasts.

    Here’s to a speedy recovery.

@Christine & BigBadFletch: The tivocast.podshow.com page updated to say it’s coming in October. I guess I jumped the gun. :)

Actually, I know some people are getting it on Tivo. Take a look - http://www.paulcolligan.com/2007/09/19/podshow-on-tivo/
