The Move is Done…
Posted on: June 18, 2007Author: Cali Lewis
We finished our move. Well…finished is a funny word, isn’t it? The washer and dryer is in our living room and most of our stuff is in the garage, but there are no more trucks involved, and that’s a good thing.
There’s so much to talk about and I can’t wait to get back on a regular schedule. But first, I need a nap! Give me about five hours…maybe a little more, then I’m good. Right now every muscle aches, my mind is delirious, and I think I’ve fallen in love with a pillow.

@Aaron I had a similar problem with my first 30GB video iPod that ended up being my third in 6 month period because the first two just stopped working randomly by no fault of my own. They replaced them free of charge and of course I puzzled the Apple Geniuses on why they stopped working like they did.

Guys, Apple = overrated & overpriced boutique crap. I was taken in by the prettiness too but anyone who can think for themselves eventually comes around.

@Truthy = Dude everything that is electronic and/or has moving part has a high chance of failure - branding apple products as you have is certainly not fair if compared to the failure rate of any windows product ever created or even against just plain electronics in general.
And yes I can think for myself and choose Apple products. Dont be a sheep…think for yourself!!

who cares about the brand, as long as we can get our fix of GBTV.

Luiz (Australia), you will come around eventually. Apple has great GUI and pretty exterior hardware but the underlying engineering is godawful and their business practices are as bad as if not worse that MS back in the day. This podcast was down for a while because their Mac crashed and I can tell you it will not be the last time. I’ve never had PC problems to the degree I’ve had with Apple merchandise. Not even close. And no, I did not mistreat or misuse the Apple equipment. And it’s not just me. Just read the complaints on the web. It really is substandard and overpriced crap. But very, very pretty. Suckers born every minute.

Amazing how perceptions vary and how narrow minded some people can be.
I’ve been a Windows user for 15 years. I bought my first Mac for Christmas last year and have not had one bit of trouble with it (except for my own ignorance with a foreign OS)
The Mac is now my primary machine. I only jump into Windows because my work systems aren’t Mac friendly.

Prostr8, wait until you’ve had it more than 6 months before you call people narrow minded when they are talking from years of experience.

ok my windows computer, crashed within the first month, maybe just the manufactures of the product? doubt it, got the hard drive replaced, happened again… i dont have a mac yet because, yes they are too expensive (i agree with you on that) but i use my friends all the time and she has had it for more than a year and it still runs better than a windows computer would after a year.
and people with the new ipods, sucks for you cause my ipod is about 3-4 years old, never had a problem with it.
i would much rather have a mac than a windows.

My final work to Truthy - when it comes to products - you need to select the right tool for the job.
My comments are made from my experience as Head of IT for a mulit-national company (we have in excess of 3000 Windows desktops) so my experience with MS is extensive over the last 15 years. I have a fair idea on the stability of their product.
I have also worked with and managed a Trading Environment and some of the applications were run on the MAC products and proved to be very stable.
The core of it really comes down to UNIX (no matter what flavour) as an OS being far more stable than what MS have come up with. And really it is the “registry” that is the flaw on the MS OS.
As the MAC “home user’ fleet grows and people become more familiar with the products then I guess the business would be just as silly and convert to MAC.
It is certainly time for a change…
